Greyhound vs. IG contest!

The Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation & Halfway Home Greyhound Adoption (of Tulsa, OK) have teamed up in a hilarious way to raise money and awareness for 2 great causes.

Basically, you submit a picture of either your Iggy or Greyhound, and that enters them in the "Presidential" race for the following titles:

• Canine Perpetrator…er President of the United States
• Canine VP (Wants power but too lazy to be President)
• Secretary of Slumber
• Speaker of the Doghouse
• Pack … er Majority Leader
• Pilferer of the Treasury
• Attorney General of Shredders, Stashers and Swindlers
• Prince of Piddlers
• Princess of Pooper Scoopers

Votes are $1 each and you can share the contest with anyone and everyone you know to bump up your doggies' votes AND raise money for two great adoption organizations at the same time. FUN! I hope everyone considers joining, if for anything, a little bit of fun and friendly competition. I will definitely be entering my 4 Greyhounds and 1 Italian Greyhound!

Pics from our first play date

Thanks to everyone who came out to the OKC Paw Park yesterday for our first social gathering. Even though the wind was COLD I think all the Iggies had a great time playing! In total we had 10 Italian Greyhounds come to play - that was a huge success. I hope everyone had a good time.

Debbie Curtis, one of the Iggy moms, has offered to have the next Play Date at her home- she has a really large backyard. Details to come!

Our first Iggy Playdate

Our first gathering will be this Sunday, January 15th, 2012 at 3:00pm.

Meet us at the OKC Paw Park (east side of Lake Hefner Parkway & Grand Blvd.) in the small dog area!

Bring something warm for your Iggy to wear in case the weather gets chilly. It's supposed to be around 60 degrees that afternoon. 

*Remember, your Iggy should be up to date on all vaccinations before bringing them to the dog park. We hope to see you there!
